   Everywhere,

Heavily to the
   Ground.
When they used to be
   White
I can no longer recall;
Now they are
   Red.
Pain takes over my body.
I am no longer flying.
I have
F  L  E
  A  L  N
And it seems as if
   NO ONE
Can SAVE mE
I want to
   SCREAM
For help
But there is
   None
To be found.
So I lay here,
My body broken,
My wings torn.

Author's Comments

Okay, this one AGAIN was written midnight last night... and I was in a wierd mood... and for some reason thought of soft things... and so feathers went on the page, and this came up. Forgive me, I am in a strange period of my life...

[EDIT] I entered this poem in a contest on Poetry.com! AND... I was entered into the semi-finals! SO that means that I could win $1,000 for it, and I'm getting it published in a poetry book! WOOT!!!! *celebrates*

Update: This poem has won the Editor's Choice Award for "outstanding achivement in poetry" from poetry.com and the International Library of Poetry! Plus it could be recorded with 33 other poems and placed on CD. More to come as it unfolds...
